Crosley Announces All Canned Beer Event

Crosley Radio to Host First Annual Candemonium Canned Beer Festival on August 26

In partnership with Against the Grain Brewery and West Sixth Brewing, Crosley Candemonium will benefit Girls Rock Louisville

(Louisville, KY - Aug. 16, 2017) Crosley Radio, in partnership with Against the Grain Brewery and West Sixth Brewing, presents the first annual Crosley Candemonium. The family-friendly summer bash will feature canned beer, food trucks, local art, the Crosley Cruiser mobile record store, a children's play area and a plethora of local vendors. Crosley Candemonium will take place at the Resurfaced lot located at 801 E Liberty Street in Louisville on August 26, between 12pm and 6pm.

“We have been wanting to put something like this together for a few years,” said director of marketing for Crosley Radio, Jason Menard. “Candemonium celebrates our combined love of music, beer, and the Louisville community. We’re excited to partner with Against the Grain and West Sixth, who share our vision, to bring Candemonium to life.”

Prior to Candemonium, five local artists with unique styles (Cricket Press, Matthew McDole, Kendall Regan, Suzanne Edds and Whitney Carpenter) will customize Crosley turntables to be raffled off at the event. All proceeds from the turntable raffle and a portion of the proceeds from beer sales will be donated to Girls Rock Louisville.

Girls Rock Louisville aims to empower girls and gender nonconforming youth from all backgrounds by exploring music creation in a supportive, inclusive environment. GRL views music as a force for change and community building and as an opportunity to learn self-confidence, self-expression, and participation in social justice. GRL is working to curate the playlist for Candemonium from their vast network of local female musicians.

"From the beginning, we started West Sixth with the goal of not just making Kentucky's best beer, but also having a positive impact of the communities we're part of. When Crosley approached us about Candemonium, we knew it was right up our alley,” said Ben Self, co-founder of West Sixth Brewing. “We're particularly excited that Cricket Press, who designs all our labels, is decorating a Crosley turntable. I hope lots of folks will come out and have a West Sixth so we can all raise a ton of money for Girls Rock."

Candemonium attendees can also stop by the Crosley Cruiser mobile record store, a one-of-a-kind vinyl shop housed inside a 20-foot box truck. The Cruiser is equipped with mobile charging stations, multiple listening stations, comfortable seating and a hand-crafted Crosley Rocket Jukebox.

Additional Crosley Candemonium vendors include:

  • Against the Grain Brewery
  • Block Party Handmade Boutique
  • Hide N Seek Boutique
  • Momma's BBQ Food Truck
  • West Sixth Brewing

“At Against the Grain we’re always down for a good time. We never pass up an opportunity to do just that. Candemonium is a way for us to share and collaborate on all the things we like, music, Louisville art, local biz, and of course BEER,” said Katie Molck, marketing and media maven at Against the Grain Brewery.

Crosley Candemonium will take place on Saturday, August 26 from 12pm to 6pm at the Resurfaced lot located at 801 E Liberty Street, Louisville, KY 40204. For more information, or to RSVP, please visit the Facebook event page.

About Against the Grain Brewery:

Established 2011. From day one we have been dedicated to the production and enjoyment of great beer. We hammer on that point as Louisville's premier, brewer owned and operated brewery. Beholden to no other management priority than making beer well. Against The Grain is like most worthwhile undertakings, the product of dissatisfaction with the status quo. The Louisville area has had a number of quality breweries, but still there was simply not enough focus on great beer. Against The Grain is an effort to help solve this problem. AtG is born from the love of great beer and uncompromisingly dedicated to making great beer!

About West Sixth Brewing:

Founded in 2012, we’re a craft microbrewery located in a historic 100-year-old bakery called The Bread Box on West 6th Street in Lexington, Kentucky. We brew and can our beer out of that location, and it’s sold at bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and liquor stores throughout the state of Kentucky (and across the river in Cincinnati, OH). We measure our success as a company not just on the beer that we make, but also on our social impact in the communities we’re a part of. We support the direct work of nonprofits in our area through programs like our Pay it Forward program and 6th for a Cause.
